On March 4, 2026, Shining 3D Technology Co., Ltd. was interviewed at the Dental South China International Expo, announcing the launch of a new lightweight Intraoral Scanning (IOS) device at the event. Weighing approximately 106 grams, it is one of the lightest options currently available on the market. According to the company, this device finds extensive applications in Orthodontics, restoration, and implantology. It can be paired with a pneumatic gingival retraction scanning head, which uses airflow to push back the gums during the scanning process, allowing for clear acquisition of subgingival margin morphology without the need for separate physical gingival retraction. It can also be paired with a feature scanning rod to enhance full-arch scanning accuracy, with database matching possible both locally and in the cloud. The company stated that, in addition to the aforementioned features, the new product also includes preventive and doctor-patient communication functions such as plaque scanning and health check reports.
