DentalGoodNews | On March 23, 2026, PDS Health Technologies announced a formal partnership with the University of the Pacific to deploy its dental-optimized Epic® electronic health record (EHR) system at the university's Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and the Pacific Center for Collaborative Care.
According to the official announcement, this deployment will cover three clinical settings: dental, medical, and future ambulatory surgery centers. Consequently, the University of the Pacific's School of Dentistry will become the first dental school in the United States to deploy this system across all these settings. PDS Health Technologies disclosed that its unified platform will integrate multiple care settings across the San Francisco and Sacramento campuses into a single patient record, aiming to enhance clinical teaching collaboration and improve referral efficiency.
Dr. Elisa Chávez, Interim Dean of the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, noted that integrating this system into the three major clinical settings is a significant step in their transformation, designed to allow students to practice interdisciplinary care. In addition to the Epic system implementation, PDS Health Technologies will also provide revenue cycle management services to strengthen operational processes and improve financial performance.
According to previous reports by DGN, the U.S. Dental Service Organization (DSO) giant Pacific Dental Services announced its rebranding to "PDS Health" in 2024, shifting its strategic focus towards the deep integration of dental and medical services, providing services for dental practices, dental specialty clinics, and medical institutions. Founded in 1851, the University of the Pacific's dental program not only offers comprehensive clinical training but also places special emphasis on integrating innovation and technology into dental care. It previously collaborated with OraQ AI in 2024 to actively explore the application of artificial intelligence in dental clinical decision-making.
According to official disclosures, PDS Health Technologies' dental-optimized Epic system currently supports over 14 million patients and covers more than 1,250 sites of care globally. As of the time of writing, neither party has disclosed the specific financial details of this partnership's implementation.
