WeiGao Shares Publicly Apologizes for Million-Yuan Bribery Case: Employee Sentenced, Involving Kickbacks to 18 Departments

According to previous notifications from the National Healthcare Security Administration and related court judgments, Ci Molong, a former sales representative of Weigao's Kunming branch, over a nine-year period from 2011 to 2020, bribed multiple staff members of the Pu'er City People's Hospital with cash totaling 395,000 yuan, 9,900 US dollars, and a 200-gram gold bar. Simultaneously, he provided kickbacks totaling 1,191,200 yuan to 18 departments including Obstetrics, Infectious Diseases, and Respiratory Medicine. Ci Molong was convicted of bribery and bribery of a unit, and was sentenced in the first instance to two years and six months imprisonment and a fine of 200,000 yuan.

In its statement, Weigao stated that it has immediately terminated the related discredited conduct and has legally and compliantly reduced the sales prices of the relevant products to proactively rectify the impact of the discredit. Concurrently, the company has terminated the labor contract with the involved sales representative and has imposed strict disciplinary actions on the relevant management personnel responsible.
