Biotech Company Secures $4 Million in Funding to Accelerate R&D of Enamel Repair and Bone Regeneration Technologies

DentalGoodNews｜UK biotechnology startup Eterna Regeneratives recently completed $4 million in Seed Round Financing, led by Hoxton Ventures and The Venture Collective (TVC). The funds will be used to advance the R&D and commercialization of its regenerative Biomaterial platform. This round of funding will primarily be used to accelerate product development, expand research scale, and prepare for market entry.

According to Eterna Regeneratives, its core technology is based on a patented keratin material extracted from wool, which can induce a mineralization process on the surface of damaged teeth, forming a regenerative layer with hardness and mechanical strength approaching that of natural Enamel. The company plans to incorporate this material into toothpaste, mouthwash, and professional clinical application products, with the goal of bringing Enamel repair technology to the consumer market by early 2027.

In addition to Enamel repair, Eterna Regeneratives is also exploring bone regeneration applications based on the same patented technology, aiming to provide a potential complementary direction to current bone repair solutions that are primarily based on collagen membranes. However, there is currently a lack of controlled data and clinical evidence to support this, and further validation is still needed.

Currently, Eterna Regeneratives is expanding its research and business teams, and establishing partnerships with Oral care companies, professional partners, and consumer health organizations to drive the commercialization of its first product.

Public information shows that Eterna Regeneratives was founded in 2024 by Khaled Eissa and Dr. Sherif Elsharkawy. It is a biotechnology spin-off company originating from King's College London. The company focuses on developing Biomaterial platforms for mineralization and tissue regeneration, with initial applications focused on Enamel repair and bone regeneration. The company has currently established new laboratory facilities in Canary Wharf, London, and plans to translate its patented technology from laboratory proof-of-concept to commercial products.
