DentalGoodNews|October 31, 2026 — The Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA) recently issued an initiative, calling on member institutions and individuals to participate in the national alliance follow-up centralized procurement of Dental Implants and Orthodontic Brackets. The initiative proposes solid efforts in demand declaration, procurement fulfillment, and clinical use of selected products, strict implementation of price and charging policies, adherence to "reducing prices without compromising medical quality," and passing the benefits of VBP through to patients.

The initiative states that since the implementation of national VBP for Dental Implant Systems and Orthodontic Brackets, market order in the industry has been continuously standardized, the financial burden on patients has been significantly reduced, and the scale of consumables use has steadily expanded. Currently, the first-round VBP agreement periods for both categories of consumables have expired, and the national alliance follow-up centralized procurement has officially launched. This round will continue to optimize procurement rules, broaden procurement scope, and strengthen supply guarantees. At present, multiple National Center for Stomatology institutions and national dental chain organizations have taken the lead in expressing their participation in the follow-up centralized procurement.

According to previous reports by DGN, this round of follow-up centralized procurement was officially launched on September 28, 2026, in Ziyang, Sichuan, led by the Sichuan Provincial Healthcare Security Administration with joint participation of alliance provinces. It covers two categories of consumables — Dental Implant Systems and Orthodontic Brackets — and is expected to complete all procurement work by the end of 2026.

On October 30, the National Alliance Procurement Office for Dental Implants and Orthodontic Brackets issued a notice, adding 8 institutions as member units: Peking University School of Stomatology, Sichuan University West China Hospital of Stomatology, the Affiliated Stomatology Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the Third Affiliated Hospital of the Air Force Medical University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Taikang Dental Group Co., Ltd., TOPCHOICE MEDICAL CORPORATION, Chengdu Xinqiao Dental Hospital Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Moore Dental Management Group Co., Ltd. These institutions will participate in research and formulation of VBP rules for the two categories of consumables, monitoring and evaluation of implementation effects, and related matters.

The initiative states that the follow-up centralized procurement "is not only a livelihood necessity but also a major opportunity for institutional transformation and quality improvement," and expects member institutions to seize the trend and actively participate.
