Good Dental News |Planmeca recently announced the launch of a new dental 3D printer, Planmeca Creo® X. This product uses Chip-on-Board (COB) LED light source technology and is paired with a monochrome LCD panel to achieve a pixel resolution of 34 microns. It is reported that this device can be used to manufacture dental restorations, surgical guides, dental models, and customized appliances such as occlusal splints, night guards, and impression trays.
According to the information, Planmeca Creo X is redesigned in terms of technology and core components based on the mechanical design of its predecessor, Planmeca Creo® C5. The device is equipped with an integrated heater for resin temperature control to optimize the printing effects of different materials.
Pontus Degerlund, the CAD/CAM director of Planmeca, said that the focus of product development is to ensure reliability, enabling the device to meet the needs of various printing materials and maintain stable performance in high-load environments.
Planmeca is headquartered in Finland. Its product line covers digital dental equipment, CAD/CAM solutions, and 2D/3D imaging systems, and its distribution network covers more than 120 countries and regions around the world. According to a previous report by Good Dental, the company launched several digital products at the IDS exhibition in March 2025.
