Douyin E-commerce has launched a special governance campaign for the medical category, having preemptively intercepted over 370,000 cases of violations.

DentalGoodNews｜On August 4, 2026, Douyin E-commerce Safety and Trust Center announced that since February this year, the platform has carried out special governance targeting the pharmaceutical and Medical Devices categories, intercepting over 370,000 related violation cases in the past six months.

According to the announcement, during routine inspections, the platform found that some merchants and influencers still engage in issues such as misplacing pharmaceutical and Medical Devices categories, misleading consumers by borrowing drug names or packaging information, implying drug efficacy through ordinary products, and making false claims about Medical Devices. Douyin E-commerce Safety and Trust Center noted that such behaviors not only affect consumers' accurate judgment of product attributes, uses, and risks, but also disrupt the normal order of industry operations, constituting violations that the platform continues to target with focused enforcement.

In response to these issues, Douyin E-commerce Safety and Trust Center stated that during the special governance period, the platform has added multiple recognition models and further tightened the listing procedures for pharmaceutical and medical device product categories.

According to previous reports by DGN, Douyin Medical released new regulations in September 2024 to strengthen the management of medical content, strictly controlling false information and irregular traffic diversion practices.
