DentalGoodNews|July 14, 2026 - Smile Doctors, the largest *Orthodontic Services Organization (OSO) in the United States, announced that its growth performance in the first half of 2026 outpaced its growth plan. In the second quarter of 2026, the company secured $125 million (approximately RMB 847 million) in additional growth capital. This funding will primarily be used to establish new orthodontist partnerships, expand de novo clinics, and provide ongoing support to existing partner clinics.
According to Smile Doctors' disclosure, the company achieved high double-digit growth in the first six months of 2026, driven primarily by high single-digit same-store growth, new orthodontist partnerships, the opening of seven new clinics, and increased demand for adult orthodontic treatment. As of now, Smile Doctors supports 591 locations across 36 states in the U.S. and expects to exceed 600 locations by the end of 2026.
Regarding expansion plans, Smile Doctors anticipates adding 18 new clinics over the next 12 months. The company stated that Smile Express®, an orthodontic solution powered by Invisalign®, offers adult patients a more convenient clear aligner service; this business saw a triple-digit year-over-year increase in patient volume in the first six months of 2026.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Dental Service Organization (DSO) sector has also seen recent capital activity.
