According to the company's disclosure, the profit growth in the first three quarters mainly came from the recovery of the dental segment. The dental segment recorded sales of 8.103 billion yen (approximately 364 million yuan), up 16.2% year-on-year; operating profit was 1.473 billion yen (approximately 66.1 million yuan), up 102.4% year-on-year, the highest growth rate among all business segments. In terms of the overall absolute value of the China dental business, cumulative dental sales in China for FY2026 first three quarters reached 2.844 billion yen (approximately 128 million yuan), an increase of about 49% compared to the same period in FY2025, accounting for 35% of the total dental segment sales in the first three quarters.
The company stated that the recovery of the China dental business was mainly driven by the sales recovery of DIA-BURS (diamond grinding tools). Due to issues related to product registration with Chinese regulatory authorities, MANI initiated a voluntary recall of some DIA-BURS products in March 2025, which was largely completed by August of the same year. The recalled products received regulatory approval in October and resumed sales in November. The company disclosed that the sales recovery of DIA-BURS exceeded the original plan, which aimed to restore sales to about 90% of pre-recall levels within two years. Specifically, DIA-BURS sales in FY2026 Q1 recovered to 37% of the same period in FY2024, Q2 recovered to 156%, and Q3 recovered to 87%.
