DentalGoodNews|On June 26, 2026, local time, Park Dental Research Corporation, a U.S. dental implant manufacturer, filed a data event notification with relevant regulatory authorities in Massachusetts, disclosing that the company had suffered a ransomware attack around April 29, 2026. Around the same period, another organization serving over 5,000 dental clinics in the U.S., 1-800-Dentist, was also threatened by a ransomware group with Russian ties.

In the case of Park Dental Research, the hacker group INTERLOCK claimed responsibility for the attack on a dark web leak site on May 11, stating that approximately 260GB of data had been obtained. According to the notification document, the scope of potentially affected personal information is broad, including names, Social Security Numbers (SSNs), dates of birth, addresses, compensation information, bank account details, passport information, I-9 employment eligibility verification documents, and driver's license information. The company stated that, as of now, it is "not aware of any fraud resulting from this incident," has initiated an investigation, hired professionals to assess the scope of the event, notified law enforcement, and is providing affected individuals with 24 months of credit and CyberScan monitoring, identity restoration services, and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance compensation through IDX. The data breach class action law firm Shamis & Gentile has also stated that it is investigating the incident.

On June 28, local time, the Russian-linked ransomware group Qilin claimed on its blog to have stolen data from 1-800-Dentist. Subsequently, the group demanded an unspecified ransom amount, threatening to release the files. According to Cybernews, the sample files displayed by Qilin allegedly span over a decade, involving client referral data, client profiles, employee compensation records, confidentiality agreements, payment card forms, and financial data. As of the time of this report, 1-800-Dentist has not confirmed any cybersecurity incident.
