DentalGoodNews|October 21, 2026 — ROE Dental Laboratory, a U.S. dental laboratory, has launched ArchBridge for Overdenture™, a digital scanning system and workflow for overdentures. The company states that the system uses patent-pending technology to capture the positions of overdenture abutment attachments via intraoral scanning, with the laboratory positioning and curing the attachment housings.

According to ROE, clinicians use six reusable Titanium Alloy scan bodies to capture attachment positions intraorally. The scan bodies are secured to the overdenture abutments by press-fit (via disposable inserts or processing spacers), and clinicians can confirm seating by tactile feel; their surfaces are Air Polishing titanium to reduce reflections and support optical scanning. The six scan bodies each feature different geometries, providing distinct identification features for the scanner.

After scanning is completed, the attachment positions are transmitted as digital data to the laboratory, where ROE positions and cures the attachment housings under controlled laboratory conditions. The company states that this workflow eliminates the need for traditional models, analogs, and Chairside pickup, while also removing Chairside blockout and intraoral acrylic resin pickup steps.

ArchBridge builds on ROE's existing Grammetry™ full-arch scan body system. ROE states that it has redesigned the scan bodies and accompanying digital library specifically for overdenture abutment attachments, addressing the challenges of few stable reference points recognizable by scanners during Edentulous arch scanning and the potential identification difficulties caused by multiple scan bodies of identical shape.

ROE states that ArchBridge is compatible with most mainstream overdenture systems. ArchBridge scan bodies can be used directly with the Zest LOCATOR and LOCATOR FIXED platforms and connected via the Zest Processing Spacer; the processing spacer is a disposable component in the intraoral workflow, while the scan bodies can be cleaned, steam sterilized, and reused. Applicable workflows include replacing existing overdentures, converting healing prostheses, and converting removable overdentures to fixed hybrid prostheses.
